Chess Scholars instructors are trained to work with all levels of chess students to give them the best instruction possible. Each class will consist of expert instruction by one of our qualified instructors and guided practice that allows students to take what they have learned and apply it in chess matches with other students. Our instructors will also evaluate students using the patented Chess Belts system, modeled on martial arts. Over the course of their time with Chess Scholars students will be given the opportunity to advance their Chess Belt level, providing additional motivation that students find challenging and exciting. Our instructors also use a point system during tournaments that allows for all students to progress, regardless of whether they win or lose, creating an atmosphere of fun and learning that will have your child excited for their next session.
Our program is designed to meet the needs of all students. Whether your child is a beginner or a tournament champion, our instructors are trained to differentiate their lessons to meet the needs of all students. At schools with multiple instructors, classes are also split by age and experience level to provide the most targeted instruction possible for all students.
